PFD EX are explosion-proof roof fans. PFD EX series fans meet the requirements of the EU ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU on devices intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres
Zone designation:
Z1 – zone in which a mixture of gases, vapors or mists may occur under normal operating conditions.
Z2 – zone where there is a low probability of an explosive mixture of gases, vapors or mists, where the explosive mixture may occur only for a short time.
Z22 – a zone where there is a low probability of an explosive dust mixture and there is a short time, e.g. during a breakdown.
PFD EX fans are used in many technological facilities of the chemical industry where there is a risk of gas explosion. PFD EX fans are used e.g. in laboratories, paint shops, gas stations. The fan housing is made of acid-resistant steel, thanks to which it can also be used in facilities with increased chemical aggressiveness, e.g. sewage treatment plants.
Fans designed for roof mounting. Connection stub ended with a flange for mounting on standardized B/I and B/II roof bases. Impeller and mounting discs made of stainless steel. In addition, an anti-electrostatic polyester coating was used to prevent excessive deposition of pollutants. The fan impeller has backward curved blades, thanks to which it is characterized by high efficiency and resistance to contamination. The fan housing has a mesh protecting against rodents and birds. The fans are equipped with an explosion-proof motor with a three-phase power supply dedicated to zone 1 (2G) installed outside the medium pipeline. The fan motor is placed under the cap outside the stream of the pumped medium. The fan is not adapted to speed regulation. The fan with the possibility of adjusting the speed with an inverter is available on special request.
